Half-Day Excursion on Wednesday September 28th
Let yourself be a part of a journey through art, history and nature. Start with a visit to the Basilica of San Francesco, in the heart of Assisi, one of the most important places of Christian pilgrimage in Italy and of high artistic relevance, holding frescoes from among the most important italian late medieval painters, such as Cimabue and Giotto. A professional guide will explain your way towards the delicate twine between art, history and religion.
Then, the tour will move to the Bosco of San Francesco: a wood below the Basilica where you will be able to witness first-hand the beauty and the peace of the original Umbrian countryside, while always at the center of the city of Assisi. You will be guided in a peaceful 45 minutes walk fully immersed in nature.
Cost
25 €/person (to be paid cash only at the conference venue at the registration desk) including:
- Back-and-forth transportation to the city centre;
- Guided visit to the Basilica and to the Bosco of San Francesco;
- Small refreshment.
Program & Schedule
Meeting point: outside the conference venue
The participants will be divided in two groups in order to guarantee access to the Basilica. A shuttle service will wait for each group to reach the Basilica and from there a guided tour of the basilica will start (duration: 1 hour approx.). After the visit, the tour will proceed with a 45-minutes (approx.) long walk in the Bosco of San Francesco. The walking path is very smooth, but we advise to bring comfortable shoes for the walk. At the end of the walk, a small refreshment will be served.
